Introducing Land Surveying Business Unit

Land Surveying Business Unit

As you would be aware, it continues to be a specific strategy at Charter, that we expand our range of property consultancy services, to our clients in Melbourne. It was only a couple of months ago that I wrote to you announcing commencement of our Civil Engineering Business Unit, and I am now delighted to advise that we have commenced Land Surveying operations, as part of our continuing effort to develop a powerful, quality of diversification with a strong Melbourne focus.

I am delighted to announce that well known Land Surveyor Mr Kevin Barge, for many years having operated as Barge & Miller Surveys, is with his full team, merging operations with Charter Keck Cramer, as from the 10th March. Kevin and his team will be located at our newly fitted professional Technical Services office at second floor, 620 Church Street in Richmond.

Apart from our core Valuation service, the firm now has a very strong reputation in the areas of Research, Corporate Real Estate, Quantity Surveying, Development and Project Management, and most recently Civil Engineering. Complementary to our vision for strategic Diversification, with this latest move, we extend the firm's reach to provide full services in the area of Land Surveying, which we consider will be complementary to a number of our other operations including the Residential Sub-Divisions Valuation Practice headed by Director Bradley Papworth, and our Quantity Surveying Business Unit headed by Directors Edmund D'Cruz and Robert Toms.

Kevin has for many years been a leading Surveyor in the specialist urban areas of land and building sub-divisions, property boundary surveys, consolidation and title amendment applications. Other services include existing condition surveys, tenancy area surveys, body corporate/owners corporation advice, conversion of company share, stratum and strata subdivisions to body corporate/owners corporation titles and building set out surveys.

The inclusion of Land Surveying as an extension of our services is logical, and we anticipate will be an offer used by many of our existing clients. Real Estate activity generally, but particularly re-subdivisions in the inner urban area, and new subdivisions on the urban fringe are gaining frenetic pace in response to the growing demands of population growth and demographic change. The supply of residential accommodation particularly, but also in the industrial, retail and commercial sectors, is falling behind demand as Melbourne continues to grow more quickly than analysts had expected, and property specialists, particularly engineers and surveyors are increasingly overworked and in short supply. With our new expansion and greater resources however we can meet your requirements and will continue to prioritise the availability of our experts to existing Charter clients.
