Introducing Charter's Civil Engineering Business Unit

Further to our recent commitment to increasing Charter's professional service offer, we are now delighted to formally confirm the full operational commencement of our Civil Engineering Consultancy and Contract Services Unit as from 1st November 2007. To ensure high standards of service and delivery, the launch of this new division was entirely dependent upon securing the career commitment of only the best and most experienced personnel, and we are delighted that Alex Carey and Sam Pezzano will lead this new direction in the Firm's activities. Curriculum Vitae for both our new colleagues, together with our Civil Engineering Brochure are enclosed.

It is clear from the analysis and conclusions reached by Charter Research, that increasingly over the next decade, as Melbourne struggles to respond to the demands of population growth and demographic change, that infrastructure in general will lag community demand. Exacerbated by the increasing skills shortage, itself frustrated by inadequate student intake and immigration selection, professional services in general, but particularly in the engineering sector will be in critically short availability. Real estate in all its forms plays an extremely important role, not the least of which is subdivision and at Charter, we anticipate the increasing frustration that many clients are likely to experience when unable to engage adequate professional assistance in the engineering sector. Our rationale and intention therefore is to proactively anticipate our client's needs and provide this newly established practice, fresh to the market but for the first priority of existing Charter clients.

We are fully committed to this new initiative, having given undertakings to attract very experienced key executives to join Charter and providing them with an appropriately significant budget and mandate to expand our team of engineering professionals as quickly as possible. We already have ten specialists in our Development and Project Division, who together with nine Quantity Surveyors are all now centralised in our newly established Technical Services Centre, operating from the second floor at our head office at 620 Church Street, Richmond. This new advisory, consulting and technical hub has been created specifically to profile our resources to the development, estimating, construction and administrative needs of Charter's existing clients with whom we recognise and respect the importance of our existing goodwill.

At Charter we have a terrific culture, a relaxed but effective management style and most importantly, a great personal relationship with our clients. Please drop in at any time to experience and enjoy our new office atmosphere and for specific enquiries, please call to make appropriate arrangements.
